Longfellow’s Hope

“‘Tis always morning somewhere, and above
The awakening continents, from shore to shore,
Somewhere the birds are singing evermore.”

I need a hopeful sentence this morning as we settle in to more snowy winter. The ten inches of snow around our house muffle the calls of the chickadees and our other winter visititors. For half of the year, our windows are open and we hear birds chirp as they perch on our pines and junipers. I miss them and yearn for the first daffodils. Quote is from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
