The Frog Wore Red Suspenders

Red horse, white horse, black horse, gray,
in a pasture, hard at play,
snort and neigh and stamp their feet,
nibble bluegrass, fresh and sweet.

So begins one of the many fun-to-read-aloud poems in Jack Prelutsky’s book The Frog Wore Red Suspenders. He uses repetition and alliteration to bring rhythm to these delightful poems. He clearly has fun with words. I highly recommend this book for the children in your lives… or simply as an antidote to Monday morning at the office!
